“If you want to be a good archeologist, you gotta get out of the library!”
… a quote that might have been said in a fourth Indiana Jones movie, if there had been one. Fortunately, there is no fourth part and we continue to enjoy the triology. I absolutely love the films and could never decide which one is my favorite. I think it’s the third, but the first is really close behind.
It goes without saying that this most famous archaeologist belongs in my collection. There are a number of more or less accurate figures, with or without a whip, with or without the leather jacket. I decided to go with the mini from Stronghold Terrain, modeled by Andy Peters, just like my Conan the Barbarian. Painting him was a bit of an adventure. First, I started painting his face on one of those incredibly hot days in June. The paint was already drying on my brush as I was painting and I messed up the whole face. Indy then unfortunately took a bath in a paint remover and I started again after a while.
I’m pretty happy with the result, although I think the face could have turned out even better. Anyway, after the experience of messing up a mini, it was important to get Indy done now. Then I took him outside for a photo shoot in the last warm days of this year. Stronghold Terrain also released a Senior Archaeologist… Actually, I have too many projects already, but who can resist? Indiana Jones plus senior? Will do!
